Vintage Singer Storefronts

Richmond, Virginia - 1950s

As we like to say, we scour the Internet so you don't have to! We were interested to find as many vintage images of sewing machine stores as possible, but had no luck locating any brand but Singer.

If you have images of an old storefront, particularly a vintage image, we'd love to hear from you.

Clicking the photos provides a larger image in some cases. Enjoy!

We found a few more relevant images, even if not actual store fronts. Here we see an illustration depicting the interior of a Singer Sewing Center:

Though small to observe, this image depicts a store front in the 1940s:

Lastly, we found this photo noteworthy. Dating back to 1964, this Singer Sewing Center claims to be the oldest in California, located in Berkeley:

A sign on the door of the Berkeley store supposedly reads: "If it's raining, or too damn hot, this place is closed!"

Many viewers tell us they watch it repeatedly. Ladies tell us that the film helped draw their husbands into their passion for vintage machines.
