Questions You Might Have:
How can I identify my Singer cabinet model?
When was my Singer manufactured?
How can I refurbish my vintage machine case?
How can I refurbish my vintage Featherweight table?
Where can I go to identify what sort of CAMS I have or need?
Where can I get parts and service for my vintage sewing machine?
How much is my sewing machine worth?
Few machines have firm dollar values, and "old" or "antique" does not equal "valuable." Try the Facebook listed groups above, and post a photo of your machine and ask your question in an informed manner. Don't ask, "Hey what is this worth? I don't know anything!" Instead, post your question in a way that demonstrates that you have done some research on your own: "This machine sews nicely, and I see them on eBay for anywhere from $125 - $250. Can anyone help me determine a realistic value?" You will get much more thoughtful and informative feedback when the community knows that you are trying to educate yourself and not expecting others to perform Google searches on your behalf.
If attempting to assign a value to a Singer sewing machine, start with Singer's own Machine Value page for a roadmap.
ISMACS has a good page called How Much is My Sewing Machine Worth?

Great article! Looks like I have some more groups to explore. You come up with fascinating paint colors too. The two groups I am most active in are: Vintage and Antique Singers, and Learn to Sew on my Vintage Singer. Your well worded advice to people who want a value on their machine is often followed by new members coming into the above groups. You can tell they only want a value and aren't really interested in the machine itself, but they say it so well one can't help but smile.
